San Bruno devoted his life to seeking God in silence and solitude. Count Ruggiero Norman, who esteemed him a great deal, gave him the gift of the territories that are now geographically identified as the plateau of the Serre. Here the Saint built his hermitage, the Charterhouse of Santo Stefano del Bosco, the first monastery of Italy and second in Europe after that of Grenoble, France. Inside the Carthage you can visit a "Museum" where you can have so much information about the story of the Carthusian Monastery, and the life of the monks.
